<name removed>,
I did it! I just handed in my resignation. I have very mixed feelings at the
moment. So thanks in advance for letting me vent!
ON ONE HAND, I am glad I resigned. The reasons are the ones we talked about so
many times over the past 12 months... filling out forms... daily inspections...
weekly inquisitions... suspicious leadership... questionable business practices
The message they sent was very clear. Replace the sales force. I love it! When
times are good, <company> has a World Class sales force. Now, <company> has a
feedstock issue. Of course, the leadership that hired almost all of us thinks
they can sell better than any of us. Well, they will soon have their chance to prove
it. When nobody is left and they have to carry a bag again, they will quickly
realize the way they sold when they were a rep. does not work today.
How many times did we ask for help? Too many! Why do they think by turning up
the heat with the same old techniques we would produce better results?
ON THE OTHER HAND, I am nervous about what I am in store for with my new employer.
We have both been around long enough to know the grass is not always greener on the
other side. My new employer said they are retooling their sales force with the means to
succeed in today's dynamics. I guess I will know soon enough.
As soon I get a lay of the land, I will give you a call. If it proves to be as good
as it sounds I promise to buy you lunch from the "new hire" bonus I get after talking
you into joining.
Keep your head up!
